When consumed as part of a healthy and active lifestyle, it can even improve cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of developing type-2 diabetes. We pack it fresh to order here at our Kent-based factory.

About Flavoured Tea
Flavoured Teas date back thousands of years. Some historians suggest that, not long after the discovery of Tea, people were already adding herbs and spices to their infusions. Liquorice Tea is, of course, a relatively new 'invention'. However, its existence is, in part, thanks to the creativity of Tea blenders over the course of many centuries.

China Black Tea, in particular, is a common base ingredient for Flavoured Teas. It can accommodate a variety of fruits, herbs and spices well-suited to different personal tastes and palates. This, of course, includes liquorice root. In fact, our Liquorice Tea is a favourite among many! Will it be a favourite of yours, too?

Learn About Liquorice
Liquorice Root comes from the Glycyrrhiza glabra plant. The name of this plant, translated from Greek, means "sweet root". Over the course of thousands of years, it has been held in high regard by numerous cultures.

The Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, Chinese and the Hindu Brahmans of India used liquorice for its benefits. King Tutankhamun of Pharaonic Egypt was also buried with hordes of the herb, according to archaeological evidence.

In North America, the Cheyenne tribes used liquorice for gastrointestinal complaints. The Dakota and Pawnee people applied it to their gums to relieve toothaches. The Navajo, meanwhile, considered it a mild cathartic and brewed it as a Herbal Tea.
